9 Ways to Make Your Life Easier in Jakarta

1. Zip your way around traffic with Gojek or GrabBike

It’s the latest craze among Jakartans today; as you’ve probably heard of ojeks or the motorbike taxis, Gojek and GrabBike (a feature inside the GrabTaxi app) are the online presence of this popular mean of transport among those in the rush. The two apps connect existing gojek drivers with smartphone users all over Jakarta, and now even Bali. With Gojek, you even have the option to go cashless and pay the service through the app. One of the great things about these apps is its transparent and pre-approved pricing; so that you don’t need to haggle and make a long argument with the ojek drivers about how much you should pay for the ride. And as you and your Gojek driver will have a GPS enabled phone, there’s smaller chance of getting lost. It is safer too!

Both apps are available for Android and iOS devices.

2. Hitch a Ride with Uber or GrabTaxi

In addition to motorbike transport, GrabTaxi also offers similar service by car, just like Uber; an American-based ride-sharing  phone app that already operates in 59 countries, and recently in Indonesia.  Uber allows consumers with smartphones to submit a trip request which is then routed to Uber drivers who use their own cars. Although not yet as popular as the motorbike apps, Uber is catching up more users signing up and more cars getting shared. It is gaining popularity especially due to the fact that it is a lot cheaper than regular taxis, and –so far— no incidents have been reported in relations to Uber ride-sharing, so it is pretty safe.

Both apps are available for Android and iOS devices.

3. Party smarter with Sindhèn App

Sindhèn App is the hottest app that provide users with comprehensive listing of over 300 clubs, bars, lounges, and restaurants and the hottest events in Jakarta. With a simple tap on your screen, you can book tables, request guest list and claim the best deals in the city. It is a definitely a breezy  way to work your way into the hottest parties in Jakarta. Waze is available for download at Google Play for Android, App Store for iOS devices or check out their website for more dibs.
