Tucked away in one of the jungle of buildings in the Thamrin-Sudirman crossover, who would’ve thought you would find a cozy rooftop bar/restaurant up in the 14th floor of All Seasons Thamrin, Jakarta. Skyloft Restaurant & Lounge, such as this spot is called, is one of the few rooftop spots in the area that offers a breathtaking and one of a kind view of the Sudirman & Bunderan HI roundabout, without the hefty price tag.
View from Skyloft, Allseasons Thamrin
I was pleasantly surprised with how chic this bar/restaurant was, but wait until you step out to the tropical-style bar area. You will be amazed with the beautiful Jakarta view, best enjoyed in the evening. Even better if you can come around on Friday and Saturday, where there’s a live performance for the bar’s guests.
For dining, Skyloft is the hotel’s only dining outlet, so expect breakfast buffet every day, and the staple Indonesian, Asian and International dishes offered a la carte. For my visit, I tried one of their latest addition to the menu line up: the Indonesian inspired Surabaya buntil or papaya leaf stuffed not only with grated coconut, as it is traditionally served, but also with salmon, served in yellow curry sauce and steamed rice. (Rp 125k)
Another modern take of the Indonesian classic was the Skyloft Beef Wrap: tortilla wrap with beef slice, fresh vegetables, and the classic peanut sauce. (Rp. 105k) Perfect for a light bite to share with your friends while you enjoy the sunset above the Jakarta skyline.
I also tried the unique Durian Pannacota; a treat for all durian lovers, and if you’re still keeping your distance from the thorny fruit, here’s your chance!
The restaurant also offers some fun smoothies drink to enjoy with your food, we love the hawaiian Smoothies that blends pineapple, milk, and other fruits, the Banana Sunrise, and the Berry Orange. All delightfully refreshing!
