Review: Iseya Robatayaki Jakarta

Nestled on the ground floor of Sampoerna Strategic Square lies one of the capital’s most enduring and faithful Japanese restaurant, Iseya Robatayaki. With two access points from the building’s main lobby and exclusive access to the restaurant’s private dining room area, the restaurant often welcomes diners who have fallen in love with what’s on offer here. Many punters check in regularly to find out what new ingredients are being flown directly from Japan. Because that is one of Iseya’s DNA, to serve the freshest meat, seafood and other ingredients that make the Japanese cuisine such a fantastic delight.

Check out the selection of menus and focus on the options of imported Japanese beef and seafood that is grilled and served using the Robatayaki and Teppanyaki style.

DSC_0419 The intricate authentic Japanese cooking technique that is applied by the restaurant is to keep the ingredients fresh and ready for consumption, and the chefs rotate the menu selections, based on the ingredients that are available. But if we may recommend, try out the Omakase dining style when you experience Iseya, granted that is will knock off a few numbers from your wallet, but the experience was definitely well worth it.

DSC_0414 Throughout their five years of existence, the restaurant has continued on bringing only the best authentic Japanese cuisine to the table, using the methods that can be best described as “paying tribute to originality”. Trying out the Omakase dining style will let you understand the beauty of Japanese cuisine by giving the chefs, the freedom of what to serve you based on the freshest ingredient available, and everything will also be cooked and prepared in front of you. The pride of the restaurant, Iseya Robatayaki is one of the very few restaurants in Jakarta offering authentic Omakase style dining that is famous in Japan because of its freshness and creativity of the chef. The finale of the Omakase dining will truly leave you wanting for more as they serve the authentic Saga Gyu, the finest Kuroge Wagyu from Saga in the South of Japan, but as we often mentioned, check out their menu selections to see what’s available as the restaurant also prepare one mean Kobe beef depending on the season and availability. Let the chefs surprise you! But if you only have limited time to enjoy the restaurant, then opt for the ala-carte menu that provides all of Japanese modern and authentic favorites.
