Rosso Restaurant’s New Flavors to Savor


Kicking off 2018, Rosso, the Italian Restaurant and lounge at Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, presents new menu in addition to their list of classic Italian dishes. Led by Italian Chef Gianfranco Pirrone, this new menu is a creation of his own twist for pasta, pizza, and dessert.

For pasta, Chef Franco, popular for his homemade pasta, highlights his childhood favorite into this pasta dish: Cappelletti di Agnello con Crema di Parmigiano e Tartufo: a homemade lamb cappeletti, stuffed pastas shaped like little hats, drenched with parmesan cream and truffle butter. Chef Franco tries to represent his family Sunday brunch routine back in Italy by shaping the cappelletti into small-hats. You can also try other pasta dish for this season, Tris di Paste. It’s homemade trio of pasta: Ravioli Seafood with Basil Pesto Sauce, Spinach and Pumpkin Gnocchi with Parmesan Cream, and Beetroot Spaghetti with Gorgonzola Cheese. This trio pasta does not only give a mouthwatering look, but also a really pretty visual representing Italian flag.

Rosso - Tris di Paste_Rosso - Pizza Nera Aragosta e Capesante_Chef Franco also presents his gourmet pizza served in smaller portion and thicker dough than usual Italian pizza. Try the unique and fresh taste of Pizza Porcini e Foie Gras (Pizza with Porcini Mushroom and Foie Gras) made with premium ingredients. And if you prefer a Sicilian twist on a pizza, you should also try the Pizza Nera Aragosta e Capesante, black pizza topped with Lombok lobster and scallops. Not only that, Chef Franco also presents a delicious with fresh taste of classic beef tartare on a pizza, Pizza Tartare di Manza.

Rosso - Spuma di Cioccolato Albicocche e Menta_To please you sweet-tooth desire, these dessert choices of this season are also must try. For you chocolate lover, try the seemingly simple Chef Franco’s Spuma di Cioccolato Albicocche e Menta (Chocolate Foam with Apricot and Mint Sauce). Other new desserts that available to choose are the creamy Panna Cotta Alla Vaniglia (Vanilla Panna Cotta) and Cremoso al Cocco E Fruito Della Passione e Frutti Rossi (Creamy Coconut with Passion Fruit).

All of these new dishes will be available on the a la carte menu during lunch and dinner.
