Chef Founder of French Restaurant, Amuz Gourmet, Gilles Marx is teaming up with Michelin Star Chef Olivier Oddos from restaurant Chez Olivier in Tokyo Japan, for a unique culinary collaboration from 6 to 9 February 2018. During the collaboration, the two chef will perform cooking classes, gourmet lunch & dinners, a premium Champagne dinner and an exclusive 4 hands wine pairing gala dinner on Thursday, 8 February.
Gilles Marx is no stranger to Jakarta’s gourmands, as he has been one of Jakarta’s renowned classic French cuisine ambassador in Indonesia. Olivier Oddos, on the other hand, is the owner of a Michelin star French restaurant in Tokyo, Japan, Chez Olivier. In 2000, at the recommendation of the head chef of La Tour d’Argent, Olivier came to Japan as a cooking instructor for Le CordonBleu. After a year working as a technical director and executive chef at the Kobe and Tokyo branches of Le Cordon Bleu, he opened Chez Olivier in Ichigaya in 2009.
Olivier’s style of cooking is a slightly more contemporary, incorporating Japanese ingredients and flavors to French cooking, resulting in a refreshing mixes of flavor from the two worlds which Jakarta’s food lovers will be able to experience first-hand in the collaboration. With the help of Chef Gilles, he will also going to explore and use Indonesia’s wealth of herbs, fruits, and seafood in incorporate it too to his dishes.
