Women’s International Club Jakarta (WIC)

The Women’s International Club Jakarta (WIC) was founded in 1950 by ladies of four different nationalities – India, Indonesia, UK and USA. After 63 years, with a club motto “Friendship Through Understanding” WIC became a gathering place for women of many more nationalities, coming together in friendship, taking part in the many circles learning from each other, getting involved in social welfare activities, and joining hands in raising funds together organizing the WIC Annual Charity Bazaar. The Club is a secular and strictly non-political, non-profit organisation, open only to women, and run by a mixed Indonesian/expatriate Executive Committee elected by the membership. 1. Madam,
Jill Partrick (from England) was an active member of WIC during 1991-94 when she lived in Jakarta. She retained happy memories of her involvement and interaction with many WIC members, some of whom afterwards visited her in England. Those who remember her will be sad to hear that Jill recently passed away in Oxford England, aged 81, after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
    Sincere regards’
    “David Partrick
