1. Grand Garden Cafe (was: Kafe Dedaunan)
After a long walk around the Bogor Botanical Garden, this cafe located in the legendary garden is a must visit, even just for a cup of coffee. It is located in the complex’s most prominent open space, surrounded by massive trees that will give you a sense of peace and relaxation. This particular spot is also where Jokowi hosted US President Barack Obama for a casual afternoon ‘bakso’ and tea snack in his recent visit to Bogor.

3. YELO Eatery Bogor
Cheeky, fun and urban-inspired. YELO takes inspiration from the bold mash up of colour and pattern of the pop art world. With bright and energetic colour palette, hand-painted illustration and a worn-out look, even the least Instagram savvy person in the group will want to snap some pics. The menu is mix of Western and Asian crowd favorites that your kids will not have trouble picking a favorite.

4. Monarchy Bistro

5. Tier Siera
Tier Siera is popular for its outdoor seating area that overlooks the green Bogor city. At first the restaurant might come across as high end, but they actually very affordable western and asian food. Which means this place can get really busy on weekends with Jakarta crowd looking for Bogor breeze.

6. Warung Nako
Already became most favorite hang out places in Bogor as soon as it opens thanks to its white-dominated attractive building. Warung Nako appears with glass-house inspired building combines with neat modern-minimalist interior also decorated with some of unique ornaments. The place also famous for its signature ice coffee and several interesting coffee menu. You can also try home-style foods here served with “warteg” style.

7. Suryakancana Street
If Jakarta has Glodok and Mangga Besar, Bogor has Suryakancana street as its designated ‘chinatown’. Although not as expansive as Jakarta’s kota area, as Suryakancana is just one strip of road, it is where you can find a lot of good food crammed into one area. It is not insanely crowded and overwhelming too, which is a big plus.
We like to hop from Soto Kuning Pak Yusuf, Toge Goreng, to Nasi Goreng Guang Tjo, cool of at the nostalgic Kentjana restaurant, and then fill up with sweets and snacks from food carts dotting the street. For pork-hunters you can’t mss Soto Mie Agih for unique pork-based soto mie, Ngo Hiang Khas Bogor, and a couple side of street Sate Babi.
8. Sop Duren Lodaya
Durian lovers shouldn’t miss this one spot. ‘Sop duren’ refers to a cold bowl of iced durian ‘stew’, topped with differet kind of condiments such as cheese, brownies, and even Pandan bread! If you’re new to the durian scene, this is probably a good way to approach the legendary king of all fruits.
9. Kluwih Sunda Authentic
Kluwih restaurant serves authentic Sundanese food and drinks menu with hereditary recipes. One of the most wanted menu here is Liwet Package consists of rice, Indonesian side dishes (such as Ayam Goreng, tahu, tempe), vegetables, and sambal served on top of banana leaves. Locals called it as Liwetan, a Sundanese traditions where people gather around to eat with no spoon, fork, or plate. Other than strong local taste of its foods, Kluwih also has a very pretty interior inspired by nature and Sundanese traditional houses. It is also very spacious!

10. Kedai Soto Ibu Rahayu

11. Kedai Kita
A place that’s popular for their freshly made wood fire oven pizza (and no, it’s not one of those wonton-thin pastry they call pizza around here, type!), pasta and also homemade bakmi, the most popular being those served on hotplates. It is an odd mix, but somehow it works! There is usually always a queue and the place is not that big, but usually the service it’s quite fast, so it is worth the little bit of wait.

12. De Leuit ‘Nasi Jambal’
If you want to make your visit to Bogor truly an authentic Sundanese experience, De Leuit should be the stop. They are most proud of the Nasi Jambal, a traditional sundanese rice where fragrant rice cooked with pieces of dried fish, is served with different companions such as fried chicken, vegetables, and sambal. But you can also enjoy other Sundanese and Indonesian specialties in their spacious restaurant. Perfect for big families.

13. Nicole’s Kitchen & Lounge
Nicole’s Kitchen & Lounge is well known as one of the most cozy places in Puncak to enjoy the beautiful landscape. Not just a feast for the eyes, your tongue will be spoiled when enjoying the large selection of western food and drinks they provide.
Built to resemble a greenhouse, with glass roof and sliding windows all over the place, the restaurant is showered by bright sunshine during the day with fresh breeze flowing in regularly. Try to get in there before sunset so you’ll get to enjoy the afternoon and evening ambiance.

14. Cimory Riverside View
Cimory is a local dairy company famous for its fresh milk and yogurt, and now, their restaurant in Puncak offering not just good food, including their popular large beef wursts, but also a beautiful view and scenery of the Ciliwung river. Kids will also love the ‘Cimory Mini Farm’ where kids get to see farm animals, and even learn to milk cows! After having a hearty meal, don’t forget to check out their store, selling Cimory’s freshest produce and local snacks.

15. Ah Poong
Pasar Ah Poong (a play on words of ‘Pasar Apung’ or floating market), where you can find a riverside food court selling many different food options. This food court is run by Eat n Eat group, which is famous for scouting the best of authentic Indonesian food. In the same area, you can also find a thematic and educational area called Eco Art Park where kids can run around and learn some different things from the educational displays.

16. Rumah Air
A saung (simple bamboo house sustained over water) style restaurant in Bogor, serving Indonesian and Sundanese food, including fresh water fish, and lots of vegetable options. In the lake, you can also do all sorts of activity like water cycling and fishing, which fish you catch can be cooked on site or take home with. Rumah Air also rents out other activities such as ATV, becak riding, and flying fox in the area.
